Team Business Coaching Programmes
Coaching Workshop Programmes can be a time to bring the team together & work through specific areas that the company would like to focus in on. The themes could be determined by the running trends from the individual coaching sessions of what the company needs to focus on (if the Company has enrolled all team members into business coaching sessions) as well as other key areas in the business plan or key times of the year. Examples of types of programmes that have been choosen by firms are follows:
i) Strategy & Vision Programme
Alignment of leadership in their view of what the strategy & vision of the Company is. This is a very insightful & informative programme for all who participate. How often do your leaders take time out to take a step back to remember what the company is trying to achieve? Do they even know what the vision is of the company? Do they know how collaboratively they are going to achieve it? Have they lost sight of what their overall goal is & their position in achieving this?
It is important to ensure the teams across the business are working collectively & working towards the same key priorities to ensure the objectives & long-term goals of the company are met. These programmes will facilitate this to take place in an environment they feel safe to exchange views & open up with each other, whilst being coached throughout the process & working through the changes they will experience in achieving these results.
This will ensure that the company stays at the forefront of their market place & the company’s values are sustained, as the leadership team become better aligned & form closer relationships over the session & coming weeks & months.
ii) Leadership Programme
It can be tough at the top, it can be a lonely road. The relentless time pressure, the non-stop demands, the highs and lows and the pressure to perform. This programme will provide a platform in which to acknowledge this, realise that their colleagues are experiencing similar issues, & allow this to be discussed.
Business coaching will help the team to quickly gain the confidence, awareness and skills to increase their leadership effectiveness, thereby helping remove some of the everyday pressures.
It will help develop self-awareness & emotional intelligence. Widen leadership styles so they can excel in more situations. Improve the team’s performance. Increase staff retention & help instill a positive team culture. Valuable insights into the business can be gained from this session from a financial, commercial & strategic perspective. It will be a time to reflect on their leadership styles & provide a new perspective under which to consider if they should strive to change & make a significant difference going forward.
All management will leave the session with a clear individual plan of areas for improvement & processes for them to undertake to enable them to achieve becoming better leaders.
iii) Mindfulness & Wellbeing Programme
Approximately 1 in 4 people each year will experience a mental health problem & whilst many factors can contribute to this, the fact that so much of our time is spent in the workplace it can be a fundamental cause to stress & anxiety, leading to depression. Often people will not reach out for support, due to fear, embarrassment, shame, stigma & sometime cultural perspective, & therefore it is key that programmes are set up in order to enable the individual or teams to talk through this.
This programme will cover the causes, factors, symptoms, support & tools for maintaining their wellbeing & good mental health. It allows open conversation in a safe environment run by the business coach & will open their eyes to easy solutions to immediately make an impact, areas that they can work on & also show how they can help others wellbeing around them.
The programme will also allow time for mindfulness, gratitude & meditation exercises to be experienced & learnt, enabling the team to feel re-invigorated, more balanced & provide a new perspective in which they can work through their tensions going forward.
A report will be created of general themes arising in these sessions, & will allow HR to review these, to identify areas in which the company can do more to assist in promoting wellbeing. The business coach will also meet or conduct a video call to go through these areas & help with potential solutions that could be put in place, which can also include solutions at minimal or no cost.
This programme will not only leave the company will a more balanced workforce enable to deal with stress more effectively, but also lead to fewer sick days & long-term sickness & will increase productivity. A happier workforce will only lead to positive outcomes & increased financial performance.
iv) Cultural Work Programme
All companies will go through a life-cycle whether it is significant growth or trying to maintain their position in the market. Through this life-cycle the markets, team, goals will all change & the culture will naturally evolve. If a ‘Caring & Sharing’ approach is adopted within the company, then this will form an environment in which employees want to work within, feel safe & strive in, & will work to their best potential.
The programme allows open discussion on what the current culture is & provides steps forward to creating & promoting an improved culture that the company & the leadership team have defined collaboratively, rather than naturally having evolved into an environment which is not conducive for employee retention & success.
The team will leave this session with a clear plan & next steps of creating this new culture & most importantly will lead from the top down by example.
The cultural programme session results will be clearly defined, in order that these can also be utilised to assist in ensuring the right candidates are selected in the recruitment process for future roles. The qualities will be defined of what that the company is looking for in its future team members, & therefore the new improved culture will be kept & enhanced by the incoming candidates when selected.
The culture fit interview can be held alongside the main interview process or a ‘test’ can be completed by the candidate of which their fit can be assessed.
